{"id":10828,"date":"2023-02-10T08:19:33","date_gmt":"2023-02-10T14:19:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/puntodincontro.mx\/?p=10828"},"modified":"2023-02-10T08:20:29","modified_gmt":"2023-02-10T14:20:29","slug":"italia-mexico-identifican-una-variedad-de-trigo-duro-resistente-a-la-sequia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/puntodincontro.mx\/es\/2023\/02\/10\/italia-messico-individuata-una-varieta-di-grano-duro-resistente-alla-siccita\/","title":{"rendered":"Italia-M\u00e9xico: identifican una variedad de trigo duro resistente a la sequ\u00eda"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>07:26 hrs.<\/strong> - Una investigaci\u00f3n internacional en el marco de la colaboraci\u00f3n entre Italia y M\u00e9xico sobre genes de trigo duro que reaccionan a la sequ\u00eda, coordinada por la <em>Agenzia nazionale per le nuove tecnologie, l'energia e lo sviluppo econ\u00f3mico sostenibile<\/em> (ENEA), identific\u00f3 en la variedad experimental mexicana Barnacla la de mayor productividad en presencia de estr\u00e9s h\u00eddrico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el campo gastron\u00f3mico, la harina de trigo duro se utiliza principalmente para la producci\u00f3n de pasta y pan, pero tambi\u00e9n para pizzas, focaccias, galletas y dulces t\u00edpicos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Los resultados \u2014publicados hace poco menos de un a\u00f1o en la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/2073-4425\/13\/3\/555\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">revista Genes<\/a>\u2014 destacan c\u00f3mo en condiciones de riego reducido la variedad Barnacla, desarrollada en M\u00e9xico por el Centro Internacional de Mejoramiento de Ma\u00edz y Trigo (CIMMYT), reacciona mejor a la escasez de agua con una disminuci\u00f3n de la cosecha inferior al 50% (3.1 t\/ha con riego reducido frente a 5.8 t\/ha con riego completo).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En las mismas condiciones, la cosecha de trigo de la variedad italiana Creso reaccion\u00f3 con un rendimiento aproximadamente tres veces menor que con riego completo (1.8 t\/ha frente a 5.3 t\/ha).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abLas plantas activan mecanismos gen\u00e9ticos complejos para hacer frente a est\u00edmulos de estr\u00e9s ambiental, como la escasez de agua, un fen\u00f3meno que ocurre cada vez con m\u00e1s frecuencia, incluso en las estaciones fr\u00edas, debido al cambio clim\u00e1tico\u00bb, explica Patrizia Galeffi, investigadora del ENEA en el laboratorio de Sostenibilidad, calidad y seguridad de producciones agroalimentarias, quien coordin\u00f3 el estudio dentro de la edici\u00f3n especial Gen\u00e9tica y Evoluci\u00f3n de la Tolerancia al Estr\u00e9s Abi\u00f3tico en las Plantas. \u00abNuestra investigaci\u00f3n\u00bb, a\u00f1adi\u00f3 Galeffi, \u00abha demostrado que en respuesta al estr\u00e9s h\u00eddrico existe una relaci\u00f3n entre el gen y el rendimiento en el campo de las distintas variedades de trigo duro\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En los experimentos se utilizaron seis genotipos diferentes, de los cuales tres variedades comerciales italianas (Duilio, Creso y Colosseo) y tres (Barnacla, AEL y Altar C84) desarrolladas en M\u00e9xico por el CIMMYT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La colaboraci\u00f3n entre el ENEA y el CIMMYT comenz\u00f3 en 2003-2004 con la identificaci\u00f3n y aislamiento del gen DRF1 del trigo duro hasta demostrar la existencia de una correlaci\u00f3n, en caso de estr\u00e9s h\u00eddrico, entre el gen (datos moleculares) y la productividad (datos agron\u00f3micos). \u00abAl principio, parec\u00eda poco probable, si no imposible, probar esta relaci\u00f3n, pero nuestra perseverancia en proporcionar a los productores informaci\u00f3n \u00fatil sobre las variedades de trigo tolerantes a la sequ\u00eda finalmente fue recompensada\u00bb, concluy\u00f3 Galeffi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La prueba de campo se llev\u00f3 a cabo en el Centro Experimental del CIMMYT en Ciudad Obreg\u00f3n, en el Estado mexicano de Sonora, en \u00e1reas topogr\u00e1ficamente distantes ya que fueron regadas bajo dos condiciones diferentes: la primera utilizando riego total con 550-600 mm de agua suministrada durante todo el ciclo del cultivo y la la segunda en r\u00e9gimen reducido con 220-250 mm de agua repartida por sistema de goteo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En ambas condiciones de riego, las parcelas fueron sometidas a los mismos tratamientos agron\u00f3micos tanto de fertilizaci\u00f3n como de aplicaci\u00f3n de fungicidas e insecticidas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n fue apoyada parcialmente por el proyecto de gran relevancia Italia-M\u00e9xico del <em>ministero degli Affari esteri e della Cooperazione internazionale<\/em> y por el proyecto italiano RIADE (Investigaci\u00f3n Integrada para la Aplicaci\u00f3n de Tecnolog\u00edas y Procesos Innovadores para la Lucha contra la Desertificaci\u00f3n). Entre los participantes, la Dra. Arianna Latini de ENEA fue apoyada por becas de la Secretar\u00eda de Relaciones Exteriores de M\u00e9xico para dos pasant\u00edas en el CIMMYT. El Dr. Karthikeyan Thiyagarajan recibi\u00f3 el apoyo de una beca posdoctoral internacional de 2 a\u00f1os del ENEA en el Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n Casaccia, el mayor complejo de laboratorios e
